It’s turning out to be a busy news week over here at Notorious HQ. Yesterday, I found out that NAR’s insurance policy is kaput. Today, the long-anticipated Statement of Interest from the US Department of Justice was filed in Nosalek v. MLS PIN.
A metric ton of real estate industry insiders, from NAR leadership to local and state leadership to coaches and gurus, eagerly awaited this Statement with baited breath… because it would finally tell us all where the United States stood vis-a-vis the MLS rules in question with all of the commission lawsuits. Because the DOJ refused to say anything or give any reasons when it first sought an extension in Nosalek, everyone was waiting to see what its rationale would be, as a clue towards what the DOJ would oppose or support in Sitzer, Moehrl, and others.
We now have the answer. I am ready to dig in.
Put your boots on, pour some coffee (or whiskey), and let’s get into it.
As always, I am not your lawyer, please consult your attorney, etc. etc. This is not legal advice. Just world-class analysis!
