As some (many? most?) of you know, I used to be a strategy consultant in this space. While that isn’t my day job these days, I still have a lot of instincts that go towards advisory services.
Over the weekend, I got both an email from a reader as well as a personal chat with a friend, asking what brokers, agents, MLSs and Associations ought to do after the deluge. While I’ve given a number of presentations over the years on this exact topic, and “embrace the prepper mindset” has been a bit of a meme of my consulting work, I thought it might be useful to somebody out there if I put some of my thoughts into print. Plus, we now know more about what that future might look like with the DOJ showing its hand, with the various settlements, with the coming MDL (multi-district litigation) consolidation, etc.

I write this with the hope that it may spur you to further thinking, further investigation, further preparation.
