I heard from multiple MLS sources that they received a letter (well, an email, but it is the 21st century) from Compass over the weekend “suggesting” changes to their Clear Cooperation Policy. A source sent me a copy, asking for anonymity, which I am happy to grant.
I think the letter is interesting for a few reasons.
One, it seems to indicate that Compass is going to win the war, even if they lose the battle to get the policy itself eliminated by NAR, because the enforcement arm of NAR is no longer under NAR’s control.
Two, we get a better idea of what it is that Compass actually wants.
Three… and beyond… let’s see what else comes to mind while decoding this together, shall we?
